I’m Kate McCombs and I’m a sex educator, blogger, and speaker. Ultimately, all of my work is about helping people feel more comfortable talking about sex. Because the world needs to have more meaningful, accurate, and useful conversations about it.
In 2010, I moved from California to Australia (which is where I founded Sex Geekdom) to get my Masters in Public Health at the University of Melbourne. Now, I’m based in New York City.
When I’m not hanging out with other sex geeks, I facilitate sexuality workshops and write about sex. I’m also the Managing Editor for MySexProfessor.com, a sexuality education blog run by Debby Herbenick, PhD at Indiana University.
Interested in having me speak to your group? Providing engaging, sex-positive, and informative sex education is my passion and it delights me to share this passion with others.
Since 2007, I’ve guest lectured at colleges and universities, including University of Melbourne, San Francisco State, Saint Mary’s College of California, and UC Berkeley. Previously, I worked for Good Vibrations as an Off-Site Sex Educator. I also facilitate workshops for community groups, campus clubs, and health educator trainings about a variety of sexuality and sexual health topics.
Presentation topics include:
Embracing Your Inner Sex Geek
Sex Ed 101 – Contraception
Sex Ed 101 – Sexually Transmissible Infections
Sexual Health Promotion Through New Media
Please feel free to send me an email or a message on Twitter if you’re interesting in having me speak to your group. I look forward to working with you.
